Pond choked by weed

Picture
Over the past few years the pond has been taken over by "Parrot feather" a pond weed which strangles all life out of the pond.  It was almost covering 2/3rds of the pond area.
It was time to take action.

Pond clear of the weed.

This is how the pond looks now that all of the weed has been cleared.  We are confident that wildlife will find it's way back to use the pond in the future.  Steve Lewis has volunteered to be the trustee that looks after the pond making sure it stays wildlife friendly.
