Why Become a Trustee?
Becoming a Trustee offers a meaningful opportunity to shape and protect a valued community-owned space at the heart of Windlesham. You will contribute your skills, experience and enthusiasm to guide the future of the Windlesham Field of Remembrance (WFoR), working alongside a committed team to enhance its role in community wellbeing. The position allows you to influence strategy, enhance local engagement and support a charitable asset that benefits the village’s present and future.

About the Role
We are seeking up to three additional Trustees to help strengthen our team and continue our work to maintain and improve our wonderful village asset.

Who We’re Looking For
Our Committee reflects a broad mix of skills, experience and perspectives. We’re keen to hear from people from all backgrounds who are enthusiastic, passionate and committed to helping Windlesham thrive.
We particularly welcome applicants with strengths in:
  • Marketing and communications
  • Business management, especially oversight of contracts and contractors
We value both professional expertise and lived experience, and welcome applicants who can contribute positively to a collaborative, supportive and inclusive committee.

Trustee Responsibilities
As a Trustee, you will:
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance
  • Use WFoR’s resources effectively and responsibly
  • Represent WFoR’s values within the community
  • Apply your knowledge and skills in the organisation’s best interests

Commitment

Trustees are expected to:
  • Attend monthly Committee meetings and the AGM
  • Join or lead sub‑groups where relevant
  • Prepare for meetings by reviewing agendas and key issues
  • Act as an ambassador for WFoR when appropriate
This is a voluntary position.
