What is friends of the field?
The residents of Windlesham village are privileged to collectively ‘own’ this wonderful green space and its community hub in the heart of the village. The woods, fields, playground and hub are managed on behalf of residents by the trustees who ensure the objectives of the WFoR for charity are achieved effectively and efficiently.
The greatest on-going challenge for the trustees is to close the gap between the annual running costs of approximately £85,000 and the income generated from tenants and users of approximately £50,000.
So....we have decided to launch ‘Friends of the Windlesham Field of Remembrance’ as a means by which residents and other people who enjoy the Field of Remembrance can make a small regular contribution to its upkeep. The £35,000 annual ‘gap’ in our budget would be fully met if each adult in windlesham were to make a contribution of only 60p per month.

Why Join?
It’s yours/ours and if we don’t look after it ourselves, we will inevitably become more and more dependent on external financial support (Grants) that often comes with strings attached
Anyone who joins FWFoR will receive a car / house window sticker to reflect their membership.
We will be publishing and distributing a periodic electronic newsletter to members who opt in to receive it

how do i join?
We are asking that households who wish to join the Friends of WFoR scheme make a regular, monthly contribution via Direct Debit and we have set this up through GoCardless - a trusted source.
Membership is open to anyone and all you need to do is agree a monthly direct debit of £2 (minimum), £5, £10 or £20 to join as a ‘Friend’.
Commercial Sponsors Membership is also open to locally based commercial organisations who wish to support the Field of Remembrance. A list of Commercial Sponsors will be prominently displayed both at the Hub and on the FoR web-site and any individual member who refers a Commercial Sponsor will have their membership waived for that year. Interested sponsors should contact the trustees via email at [email protected]
